Jaishankar hails Nitin Nabin as an inspiring leader on his appointment as BJP National Working President.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Sunday congratulated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Nabin on his appointment as the party’s National Working President. In a post on X, the EAM lauded Nabin for his humility, energetic persona, and commitment to public service, noting that his elevation reflects the BJP’s focus on promoting talented and dedicated young leadership.
“Heartiest congratulations to Shri Nitin Nabin Ji on becoming the National Executive President of BJP. Nitin Ji’s humility, energy, and dedication to public service make him an inspiring leader. His new role underscores the BJP’s commitment to fostering hardworking young leaders,” Jaishankar wrote.
With this appointment, Nitin Nabin becomes the youngest National Working President in BJP history, in contrast to other national and regional parties still led by senior leaders such as Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge (83), NCP-SP leader Sharad Pawar (85), TMC chief Mamata Banerjee (70), BSP leader Mayawati (69), and DMK president MK Stalin (72).
The BJP Parliamentary Board approved Nabin’s appointment, succeeding Union Minister JP Nadda, who has been BJP National President since January 2020. A five-time MLA from Bihar, Nabin currently serves as the state’s Road Construction Minister and has previously held portfolios including Urban Development, Housing, and Law.
Son of veteran BJP leader Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha, Nabin combines extensive administrative experience with a long-standing organizational career in the party. He has been actively involved in the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, holding positions such as National Executive Committee member, Co-in-charge (2008), National General Secretary (2010–2013), and Bihar State President (2016–2019). Nabin has also managed key party responsibilities beyond Bihar, including serving as BJP’s election and organization in-charge for Sikkim.
