Indian Army Warns Pakistan After Drone Intrusion Near Border

The Indian Army has issued a strong warning to Pakistan after a drone was sighted near the International Border, raising fresh concerns over cross-border provocations and security threats. The incident has triggered heightened vigilance along forward areas, with Indian forces making it clear that any further escalation will invite a firm and decisive response.
According to defence sources, the drone was detected during routine surveillance operations and is suspected to have crossed over from the Pakistani side. While the Army has not ruled out reconnaissance or smuggling-related intent, officials stressed that such aerial intrusions pose a serious risk to national security and cannot be treated lightly.
The Army reiterated that Pakistan has repeatedly used drones in recent years to facilitate the smuggling of arms, ammunition, narcotics, and communication equipment to terror-linked networks operating in India. These activities, officials said, reflect a pattern of hostile behaviour aimed at destabilising border regions and supporting non-state actors.
Following the sighting, Indian troops activated standard counter-drone protocols and enhanced monitoring across vulnerable stretches of the border. Security agencies are also coordinating to assess the drone’s origin, payload, and possible links to earlier incidents attributed to Pakistan-based networks.
In a clear message to Islamabad, the Indian Army warned that any attempt to violate Indian airspace or test India’s defensive preparedness would be met with appropriate military action. “India will not tolerate repeated provocations or threats to its sovereignty,” a senior official said, adding that Pakistan has been cautioned multiple times through diplomatic and military channels.
The incident comes at a time when Pakistan is facing internal instability and mounting international scrutiny over its failure to curb cross-border terrorism. Analysts say drone intrusions are increasingly being used as a low-cost, deniable tool to keep tensions alive without triggering overt conflict. India, however, has consistently maintained that such tactics will not succeed. The Army’s warning underscores New Delhi’s resolve to safeguard its borders and hold Pakistan accountable for any actions that undermine regional peace and security.
