In light of Alvida Jumma (the last Friday of Ramzan), the Cheti Chand festival, and Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police have enforced Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across the district from March 28 to March 31, officials confirmed on Friday. The implementation aims to strengthen security, ensure public safety, and maintain law and order during the festive period.

Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Police have issued security directives to uphold peace and order across the state. Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar has instructed all Zonal Additional Director Generals of Police, Commissioners of Police, Regional Inspectors General, Deputy Inspectors General, Senior Superintendents of Police, and Superintendents of Police to adhere strictly to these measures.

According to the issued guidelines, security arrangements will follow the zone and sector scheme, with heightened deployment in sensitive areas. Police pickets, static magistrates, and gazetted officers will be stationed at high-risk locations as required. Authorities have been directed to prevent any introduction of new traditions during the celebrations and to update records of anti-social elements for preventive action. Additionally, past disputes will be reviewed to ensure timely resolutions.

The DGP has emphasized holding discussions with peace committees and religious leaders to gain their cooperation. Senior officers have been tasked with inspecting all key venues, leading flag marches with police and PAC forces, and coordinating with available CAPF personnel. Police station in-charges and magistrates have also been instructed to conduct joint visits to disputed areas for swift conflict resolution.

Security measures will include intensified foot patrols in marketplaces, crowded areas, and public spaces, along with routine anti-sabotage checks conducted by bomb detection squads and sniffer dogs. Fire safety provisions in commercial zones will be reinforced, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will be strategically positioned to handle emergencies.

Authorities have been instructed to formulate and rehearse action plans to prevent any disturbances. The intelligence network will remain active, with immediate legal action mandated against any suspicious activities. To enhance surveillance, drone cameras will be used to monitor sensitive areas, additional police forces will be deployed along procession routes, and CCTV installations at key locations will be ensured.

Social media monitoring will be intensified to detect and counter false or misleading information. Any such content will be swiftly refuted, and legal action will be taken if necessary. Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing at mosques ahead of the 'Alvida Namaz,' which will be offered today before Eid celebrations begin.
