Doda Pakistan Poster Video Under Scanner Police Suspect Manipulation

A controversial video showing a “Pakistan” poster in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district has come under police scrutiny, with authorities suspecting that the footage may have been manipulated to mislead viewers and create panic.
According to officials, the video — which circulated widely on social media — appeared to show posters with pro-Pakistan messaging pasted in parts of Doda. However, preliminary investigations by the Jammu and Kashmir Police suggest that the content may not be authentic and could have been digitally altered or staged.
Police sources indicated that forensic examination of the video is underway to determine whether the visuals were edited or taken out of context. Authorities have urged the public not to believe or share unverified content, warning that such material can fuel unrest and spread misinformation.
The incident has raised concerns about the growing misuse of social media platforms to circulate provocative or fabricated content, particularly in sensitive regions like Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said strict action would be taken against those found responsible for creating or spreading misleading material.
Security agencies are also examining whether there is any larger conspiracy behind the video, including attempts to disturb peace or incite tensions.
Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of external elements trying to exploit the situation through misinformation campaigns.
The development comes amid heightened vigilance in the region, where authorities remain alert to both on-ground threats and online propaganda aimed at destabilising law and order.
