Defence Minister calls on Army commanders to develop dynamic perspective plans for future challenges.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Army Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi, stressing the importance of dynamic perspective planning to address emerging security challenges amid global uncertainties. The conference, held from April 1 to 4, focused on key issues such as border security, organisational restructuring, modernisation through indigenisation, and the adoption of advanced technologies.
Singh underscored the evolving nature of warfare, including unconventional, asymmetric, and hybrid threats spanning cyber, information, trade, and finance sectors. He urged the Armed Forces to integrate these elements into strategic planning and highlighted the need for technologically enhanced Military Intelligence.
Discussing China’s northern border, he commended troops for their vigilance and praised the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for strengthening border infrastructure in difficult conditions. On Pakistan’s proxy war tactics, Singh lauded the Army’s effective counterterrorism operations and its coordination with police forces to stabilise Jammu and Kashmir. The Defence Minister also emphasised military diplomacy's role in national security and called for redefining Defence Attaches' responsibilities to align with organisational objectives.
He acknowledged the Army’s collaboration with educational institutions to develop specialised technologies under the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative and stressed continuous engagement with emerging technologies. Concluding his address, Singh urged commanders to study global conflicts, such as the Ukraine war and Israel-Hamas tensions, for insights applicable to India's security strategy.
