Content creator Luke Chan, popularly known as Lukeychan, has ventured beyond his social media career and into the restaurant business with the opening of his own Italian cafe, Pasta Papa. Located at the Sports Lifestyle Centre in Bukit Merah, Singapore, the cafe officially opened its doors on December 14, 2024.
In an Instagram post on December 9, the 27-year-old shared his excitement and pride, saying, "Yes, I'm finally a boss!" His decision to open Pasta Papa stems from his deep love for pasta and his desire to step out of his comfort zone. He explained that he had always been drawn to pasta, making it a natural choice for his new business. But beyond his culinary passion, he also wanted to take a leap of faith and embark on something new and challenging. "Life is about taking risks," Luke said in a heartfelt message, adding, "If you're scared to jump, either jump with both feet or don't jump at all!"
Pasta Papa offers a wide variety of Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, and a range of finger foods like chicken nuggets and nachos. For those with a sweet tooth, there are indulgent desserts such as tiramisu and panna cotta. The cafe aims to provide a casual yet enjoyable dining experience, where customers can indulge in delicious food while also having fun.
One unique aspect of Pasta Papa is its interactive dining experience, where customers can opt to cook their own pasta. If they have no prior cooking experience, Luke assures that a tutorial video will be available to guide them through the process. In a humorous post on December 13, Luke joked, "Just don't take limpeh recipe and open your own pasta shop," referencing his own unique take on pasta.
In line with the cafe’s playful atmosphere, chef uniforms, complete with a toque, are available for diners to wear while cooking their pasta, adding a touch of authenticity and fun to the experience. Pasta Papa's opening follows a similar entrepreneurial move by Luke’s good friend, fellow influencer Simon Khung (Simonboy), who teamed up with actor Peter Yu to open a chicken rice stall in Canberra earlier this year.
Pasta Papa is located at the Sports Lifestyle Centre, 3500A Bukit Merah Central, Singapore 159837. The cafe operates daily from 12 pm to 10 pm, except on Sundays.
This move marks an exciting new chapter for Luke, who has successfully transitioned from content creation to becoming a business owner while still engaging his audience through entertaining and interactive experiences.
