Changi Airport Regains World's Best Airport Title in 2025, Marking 13th Time at No. 1 Spot

After being dethroned by Doha's Hamad International Airport in 2024, Singapore's Changi Airport has reclaimed the title of World's Best Airport in the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards, held in Madrid on April 9. This marks the 13th time Changi has topped the global rankings since its first win in 2006—a record-setting achievement, according to the UK-based consultancy.
“We are truly honored by this recognition, and it motivates us to keep enhancing the travel experience we offer,” said Yam Kum Weng, CEO of Changi Airport Group. Besides the top honor, Changi Airport also secured several other prestigious awards, including World's Best Airport Dining, World's Best Airport Washrooms, and Best Airport in Asia.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted credited the airport’s wide variety of dining options and exceptional washroom standards, both of which significantly contribute to customer satisfaction. Doha’s Hamad International Airport, which held the top spot last year, is now ranked second, followed by Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) in third, South Korea’s Incheon International Airport in fourth, and Japan’s Narita International Airport in fifth.
On the other end of the spectrum, Ankara Esenboga Airport in Turkey landed at the bottom of the rankings at 100th place. Dublin Airport in Ireland came in second-last, followed by Santiago Airport in Chile, Beijing Daxing Airport, and China’s Sanya Phoenix Airport. The Skytrax World Airport Awards are determined by customer surveys completed by travelers from over 100 nationalities, assessing service quality and facilities across key areas such as check-in, security, immigration, transfers, shopping, and overall arrival experience. The full rankings are available on the official World Airport Awards website.
