AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday paid tribute to the Indian armed forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, praising the courage and dedication of the soldiers who participated in the mission. In a post shared on X, Kejriwal said the Indian Army’s bravery had brought immense pride to the country and delivered a strong warning to terrorists involved in attacks against India. He stated that the operation proved terrorists could not escape punishment, even if they tried to hide in Pakistan. “Your bravery has shown those cowardly terrorists the consequences of attacking our nation,” he said, while concluding his message with “Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also marked the occasion by saluting the armed forces and describing Operation Sindoor as a symbol of India’s determined fight against terrorism. In his message on X, Modi said the armed forces displayed unmatched courage, precision and professionalism while responding to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people.

The Prime Minister said the operation demonstrated India’s preparedness and the growing coordination among the Army, Navy and Air Force. He also highlighted the importance of self-reliance in the defence sector, stating that indigenous capabilities had strengthened national security. To honour the armed forces, Modi changed his display picture on X to a special Operation Sindoor tribute image.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam. Indian forces carried out strikes on terror launchpads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to official reports, nine major terror camps linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were destroyed, and more than 100 terrorists were killed during the operation.

The strikes led to a four-day military confrontation between India and Pakistan, including drone attacks and shelling from the Pakistani side. Hostilities eventually ended on May 10, 2025, after both countries agreed to a ceasefire following talks between their Directors General of Military Operations.
