The makers of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond have strongly refuted reports suggesting that the film’s teaser was withdrawn following court intervention. In an official statement, Sunshine Pictures categorically denied the claims, calling them “completely false, baseless, and misleading.” The production house clarified that the matter is currently sub judice and that no court has issued any directive ordering the removal of the teaser or any related content. They also emphasized that they have not deleted or taken down any promotional material.

The statement further confirmed that both the teaser and the trailer of The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond remain available across all official platforms. The makers urged media outlets, digital platforms, and individuals to avoid spreading unverified information or speculative reports, stating that such misinformation only leads to unnecessary confusion among the public. The Kerala High Court directed the filmmakers to arrange a special screening of the Hindi film for the court in Kochi ahead of its scheduled release on Friday. The move came amid ongoing discussions and concerns surrounding the film’s content.

The sequel follows the 2023 release The Kerala Story, which won a National Award. The new installment centers on the lives of three young women who enter what the film portrays as deceptive marriages and subsequently face alleged forced religious conversions. Since the release of its trailer, the film has generated strong reactions. Several opposition leaders, celebrities, and social media users have criticized it as “propaganda,” while the filmmakers maintain that the story is based on researched real-life incidents. Director Kamakhya Narayan Singh, in an interview with ANI, defended the project and asserted that he stands by the film’s authenticity. He stated that if he had depicted anything inaccurate or misleading in the movie, he would be willing to “leave filmmaking.”
