US Midterm Election 2026: Amy Acton Beats Vivek Ramaswamy in Ohio Governor Race

Democratic candidate Amy Acton has defeated Republican Vivek Ramaswamy in the Ohio governor’s race, according to projections by US media outlets. Her win ends a two-decade-long gap since a Democrat last held the state’s governorship. Acton is also set to make history as Ohio’s first woman elected to the governor’s office. Ramaswamy, meanwhile, had secured the backing of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance during his campaign.
