UK and France to Dispatch Defence Chiefs to Ukraine Amid Conflict
Europe is preparing on an unprecedented scale, unseen for decades, to support a future peace deal in Ukraine, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated at a summit of Kyiv's allies in Paris.French President Emmanuel Macron announced that European nations will deploy a "reassurance force" to Ukraine once a peace agreement is in place.Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the United States to take a stronger stance against Russia and respond firmly to Moscow's breaches of agreements.
Russia, however, declared that the Black Sea maritime truce, announced on Tuesday, would only take effect once Western sanctions on its food and fertilizer trade are lifted.Leaders at the Paris summit agreed that lifting sanctions on Russia at this time is not an option.
