Typhoon Dolphin Sweeps Across China's Fujian With Force 10 Winds, 30,000 Helped

Typhoon Dolphin has struck China’s eastern coastline, unleashing strong winds and heavy rainfall while authorities remain on high alert for potential flooding and landslides. China’s National Meteorological Center said the storm was packing sustained winds of up to 162 kmph before weakening as it moves further inland. The typhoon has disrupted travel across eastern China, forcing the cancellation of nearly 1,300 flights at Shanghai’s two major airports, while around 270 flights were also cancelled in Hangzhou. Rail operations in several areas of the Yangtze River Delta have been suspended as a safety measure. Authorities have also instructed ships to return to port, suspended ferry operations and imposed restrictions on offshore work and construction activities.
