The United States has withdrawn more support for Ukraine, with National Security Adviser Mike Waltz confirming that Washington has halted intelligence-sharing. He stated that the Trump administration is currently pausing and reassessing "all aspects of this relationship."Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, the US has been providing Ukraine with critical intelligence. The suspension of this support presents a significant challenge for Ukraine’s war effort, as the intelligence plays a vital role in its defense strategy—helping detect Russian attacks and aiding offensive operations such as targeting.
This move follows the US decision to suspend military aid to Kyiv after a tense meeting in the Oval Office last week. The discussion reportedly ended with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky being asked to leave after a heated exchange with US President Donald Trump.Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that European military leaders will gather in Paris next week. In a televised address, he emphasized that France must prepare to act independently of US assistance. "I hope the US remains by our side, but we must be ready if that is not the case," Macron said.It is still unclear whether the halt in intelligence-sharing is a temporary measure or a permanent shift. CIA Director John Ratcliffe explained that Trump questioned Zelensky’s commitment to the peace process, saying, "Let's pause—I want to give you a chance to think about that."
