Operation Searchlight, a military operation carried out by Pakistan in 1971 to suppress the independence movement in East Pakistan, which later became Bangladesh. On March 25th, 1971, Operation Searchlight was launched, leading to widespread destruction and loss of life. Millions of refugees fled to India, and families were torn apart. Despite the horrors, the people of East Pakistan remained resilient, and after months of struggle, Bangladesh was born as an independent nation.
