Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has accused authorities of “abducting” him during his visit to Lahore for a protest, escalating tensions between political figures in the province and Punjab officials. Afridi alleged that he and members of his team were detained during a demonstration on Lahore’s Mall Road and later left near Lakshmi Chowk without adequate security. Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari and other government representatives have dismissed the allegations. Officials released video footage that they said showed Afridi willingly approaching and getting into a police vehicle while seeking the release of party workers who had been detained.
