Nepal Flood Rescue: Two Workers Rescued Alive After Spending 9 Days Trapped Underground

Two workers have been pulled out alive from a hydropower tunnel in Nepal, nine days after severe flooding and landslides buried parts of the project beneath tons of debris. The rescued workers have been identified as Kabir Maharjan and Sanjay Shah. They were found inside the tunnel at the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project in Trishuli. Both men reportedly sustained injuries to their arms and legs but managed to survive underground for nine days. Their rescue has brought a renewed sense of hope as search teams continue efforts to locate hundreds of people who remain unaccounted for following the disaster. Authorities estimate that nearly 900 workers are missing across 12 hydropower projects, while around 500 are believed to be trapped inside tunnels. Rescue operations are continuing at several locations as teams work through debris and damaged infrastructure in search of survivors.
