Senior Maldivian opposition leader and former foreign minister Abdulla Shahid has urged President Mohamed Muizzu’s administration to make public the details of defence and maritime agreements signed during its recent visit to Pakistan. He cautioned that withholding information about such agreements could create mistrust and raise concerns.

In an interview with WION's Sidhant Sibal, Shahid, a prominent leader of the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and former President of the UN General Assembly, stressed that information concerning defence cooperation and maritime security arrangements should be disclosed without delay to the relevant parliamentary committees on foreign affairs.
