Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has extended his sincere thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for including Rishikesh, also known as Yoganagari, in the list of 40 prominent tourist destinations. This initiative aims to enhance the country's tourism sector and elevate it to a world-class level.
The Chief Minister announced that, as part of this initiative, a modern rafting base station will be built in Rishikesh with an investment of Rs 100 crore. This project will not only promote water sports but also offer a thrilling and convenient experience for tourists.
Additionally, the construction of the rafting base station is expected to generate new employment opportunities for locals and boost the state’s economy. The Chief Minister has been actively involved in various development projects for the state’s progress.
Earlier on Friday, Dhami approved Rs 66.12 crore for the development of roads and bridges in different assembly constituencies, as per an official statement. This includes Rs 12.45 crore for work on an 8.2 km canal from Panchakkhi Square to Kamaluwaganja and a 3.1 km canal from Chaufula Square to Kathghariya Square in Kaladhungi Assembly Constituency, Nainital. Additionally, Rs 3.46 crore was approved for improving the Kalsan
Thantha Motorway to Banoli Sudarka in Lohaghat Assembly Constituency, and Rs 10.86 crore for widening and improving the Lambarpur to Langha Motorway in Vikasnagar Assembly Constituency, Dehradun.
The Chief Minister also approved Rs 9.58 crore for improving the Shaheed Shiromani Chilkoti (Gaudi-Kimatoli) motor road in Champawat Assembly Constituency, and Rs 5.98 crore for upgrading Tanakpur’s internal roads in the same district.
