Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, hosted a deck reception aboard the Indian Navy's indigenous guided missile destroyer, INS Mysore, during his four-day official visit to Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Indian Navy Spokesperson shared details of the event on X, highlighting the cultural exchange and camaraderie fostered between India and Indonesia. The post noted, "Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, #CNS, hosted a deck reception onboard #INSMysore at Jakarta, strengthening cultural ties, friendship, and collaboration between #India & #Indonesia."
It further added, "Adm Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff, #IndonesianNavy, senior military leaders of Indonesia, the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, and members of the diplomatic community were present at the event. #BridgesofFriendship"
The Indian Embassy in Indonesia also posted updates on the visit, describing it as "a very eventful & successful goodwill visit of INS Mysore to Jakarta," which featured multiple high-level engagements between the navies of India and Indonesia.
Another post by the embassy elaborated, "It was an honor for the ship to host Laksmana Muhammad Ali, KASAL, at the deck reception, jointly hosted by Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi and Ambassador Sandeep Chakravorty, alongside senior officials from the Indonesian Navy, military, and Ministry of Defence."
The embassy emphasized the significance of professional discussions onboard, which focused on strengthening collaboration in the defence industry and fostering military partnerships between the two nations, underscoring their active bilateral cooperation.
During his visit, Admiral Tripathi also met General Agus Subiyanto, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, to explore ways to deepen defence relations, particularly in naval cooperation. The discussions aimed at enhancing information exchange, capacity building, and defence industry collaboration between the two maritime neighbors.
The visit, held from December 15 to December 18, was part of broader efforts to reinforce bilateral defence ties and advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with a strong emphasis on naval collaboration.
