Hundreds of Hezbollah members have reportedly been injured after handheld pagers used for communication exploded. Lebanon’s state news agency reported blasts in Beirut's southern suburbs and other areas. Hezbollah's al-Manar TV confirmed the explosions but did not specify those injured.
Social media videos and photos showed wounded men on the ground and being rushed to hospitals, while unverified CCTV footage appeared to capture explosions in shops. A Hezbollah official told Reuters that this was the "biggest security breach yet" since the group's conflict with Israel intensified 11 months ago, coinciding with the Gaza war.
There has been no immediate response from the Israeli military, though the incidents occurred hours after Israel’s security cabinet prioritized the safe return of 60,000 displaced northern residents as a war goal.
