Researchers from the Netherlands have reported that radio waves from Elon Musk’s expanding network of satellites are obstructing scientists' ability to observe the universe. They claim that the latest generation of Starlink satellites, designed to deliver high-speed internet globally, are causing greater interference with radio telescopes compared to previous models.
The Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON) stated that the numerous satellites in orbit are "blinding" radio telescopes, potentially impeding astronomical research. SpaceX, the company behind Starlink, has yet to respond to BBC News' request for comment.
