Five terrorists have been neutralized by security forces, while two soldiers have been injured in an ongoing encounter in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps announced on X, stating, "Five terrorists neutralized by security forces during the operation in Kader, Kulgam. Two soldiers sustained injuries during the firefight and have been evacuated for medical treatment."
Earlier today, an encounter erupted in the Kader area of Kulgam. The Indian Army's Chinar Corps reported that the terrorists opened heavy fire when confronted by security forces.
"OP KADER, Kulgam. Based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and J-K police in Kader, Kulgam. Suspicious activity was noticed by alert troops, and when challenged, the terrorists opened indiscriminate and heavy fire. Our troops effectively retaliated. The operation is ongoing," the post on X said.
Earlier, on December 3, a terrorist named Junaid Ahmed Bhat was killed in an ongoing operation with security forces in Srinagar district. Police confirmed that Bhat was involved in the killings of civilians in Gagangir, Ganderbal, and several other terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
In related news, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to chair a high-level security meeting in New Delhi on December 19. According to official sources, the meeting will focus on critical security concerns, particularly the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will also attend the meeting, which aims to review strategies to maintain peace and stability in the region.
