Tom Hardy has hinted that Venom: The Last Dance will mark his final appearance in the franchise.
At 47, the actor, who portrayed Eddie Brock and the Symbiotic anti-hero in the original Venom (2018) and its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage(2021), suggested that the upcoming third installment will truly be his last entry into Sony's superhero universe.
In a recent comment on the Venom Movie Instagram account, he wrote, “That's all she wrote for me and the big guy. We promise to make this the best of them all. We've loved making these. Thank you for your love and support—come join us for The Last Dance. For those who enjoy a good time, let us entertain you.”
Set to release in cinemas on October 25, the blockbuster follows Eddie and Venom as they are faced with a devastating decision while evading the U.S. military and fierce invaders from the Symbiote's home planet.
Tom previously mentioned that this film would be "much bigger" than its two predecessors. He expressed his excitement in an interview with Forbes, stating, "This one—I'm so, so excited about because we've gone much bigger."
Leading alongside Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Stephen Graham, and Rhys Ifans, Hardy noted that the success of other R-rated Marvel films, like the Deadpool series, encouraged him and writer Kelly Marcel to explore the more violent aspects of Venom.
He elaborated, “By the third one, we've been given so much creative support to push it. It's a much broader project, and there's much more love—not that there wasn't love in the last ones. We've been allowed to integrate more of our ideas, and I’m really excited to see how they turn out.”
Reflecting on the film, Hardy concluded, “I think you have to swing for the fences with these things. It's the last one, and we want to go out with a bang, laying the groundwork for future possibilities because it's been such a fantastic journey. I've thoroughly enjoyed working in the realm of big films with grand ideas and so many people counting on you to deliver.”
