Tom Holland has announced that filming for the fourth Spider-Man movie is set to begin "next summer."
The 28-year-old actor has portrayed the web-slinger since 2016's *Captain America: Civil War* and last appeared in *Spider-Man: No Way Home* three years ago. He confirmed that work on the next installment is progressing and production will start soon.
During a recent visit to *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon*, when asked about the movie, Tom simply stated, "It's happening." After Jimmy pressed for more details, Tom added, "Yeah, next summer. Next summer we start shooting; everything's good to go. We're nearly there, super exciting. I can't wait."
While specific plot details remain confidential, the upcoming film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for *Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings*, and will feature Tom and his real-life girlfriend Zendaya reprising their roles as Peter Parker and MJ.
Tom recently hinted that he and Zendaya were "bouncing around the room" with excitement after reading the script's first draft. On the *Rich Roll Podcast*, he mentioned, "It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago, and it really ignited my enthusiasm. Zendaya and I read it together, and at times, we were bouncing around the living room, thinking, 'This is a movie that deserves the fans' respect.' However, there are a few things we need to figure out before moving forward, but it's thrilling."
He also emphasized the importance of integrating the film into the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) storyline. He explained, "One thing to remember with Marvel is that your film is a small part of a larger machine. That machine has to keep running, and you must ensure your film fits into that timeline correctly to contribute to the bigger picture. That's one of the challenges we're facing. The timeline we need to meet is ambitious, but definitely achievable with the fantastic team we have working on it."
