Beijing: Following President Droupadi Murmus congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 75th anniversary of China, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning highlighted Chinas readiness to enhance communication and mutual trust with India, aiming to foster stable development in their relationship. During a regular press briefing on Tuesday, Mao expressed appreciation for the messages from Asian leaders, including President Murmu. She stated, China values President Murmus comments on China-India relations and is prepared to strengthen communication, build mutual trust, and promote the steady development of our ties.
President Murmu, in her message, underscored the importance of peaceful relations, noting, As two large neighbors facing common developmental challenges and shared regional interests, it is crucial for us to work towards stable and peaceful relations. She expressed a desire for enhanced bilateral cooperation, aiming for a mutually beneficial relationship that leverages the strengths of both nations for the benefit of their peoples and the broader region.
Mao also provided an update on the disengagement process between India and China, noting that the two countries have successfully disengaged in four key areas, including the Galwan Valley. She remarked, China and India maintain close communication regarding border issues through diplomatic and military channels. The border situation is currently stable overall. She added that during the recent 31st meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on China-India Border Affairs, both sides worked to narrow differences and agreed on early resolutions for border issues.
