New Delhi: During his Dil-Luminati Tour concert in Jaipur on Sunday, Diljit Dosanjh addressed reports of alleged ticket scams surrounding his shows in India. The Punjabi singer and actor, who has seen a surge in global popularity in recent months, issued an apology to fans impacted by these scams. "If anyone has been affected by a ticketing scam, I apologize sincerely. We are not responsible for this, and the authorities are currently investigating," Diljit stated, as quoted by India Today.
Diljit urged fans to stay "alert" and avoid engaging with those involved in the scams. Following his successful shows in Paris, London, Dublin, and Amsterdam, his fanbase has grown significantly. Expressing his own surprise over the ticket sales, he said, "Our tickets sold out so quickly, even we weren’t fully aware."
Ahead of the concert, held at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura, the Jaipur Police issued a warning to discourage fans from buying fake tickets.
"SCAM ALERT!! Beware of counterfeit tickets! Only legitimate tickets will grant entry to Diljit Dosanjh’s concert. Tickets purchased via Zomato Live and Scope Entertainment are valid; all others are fake," the Jaipur Police posted on X. "No entry will be granted with counterfeit tickets. Steer clear of unauthorized ticket sellers."
Diljit kicked off the India leg of his tour in Delhi and will continue with shows in Hyderabad on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 17, and Lucknow on November 22, with the tour concluding in Guwahati on December 29. Earlier in April, he made history as the first Punjabi artist to perform at Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium and became the first Indian artist featured on Billboard Canada.
