The proceeds from this auction are earmarked to support the 'Namami Gange' project, an important government initiative dedicated to the conservation and rejuvenation of the Ganga river.

In his announcement on X, Modi stated, “Each year, I auction off the various gifts and mementoes I receive during public engagements. The funds raised from these auctions are dedicated to the Namami Gange initiative, which is crucial for the river’s conservation. I am delighted to share that this year's auction is now underway. I encourage everyone to bid on the mementoes that appeal to you!”

The Namami Gange program is a significant governmental effort aimed at restoring the Ganga river to its former glory.
