The BYC also urged the Baloch people to actively participate in protests across Balochistan.
We call on the people of Balochistan to fully participate in protests across the region and send a message to the state that the Baloch genocide will not be tolerated, the BYC added. There was a heavy police presence outside the Karachi Press Club to stop the press conference of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, she mentioned in a post on X. Meanwhile, the situation in Balochistan continues to deteriorate as Pakistani defense forces have forcefully cracked down on the Baloch community during the Baloch National Gathering.
Protestors claim that Pakistani defense forces are attempting to prevent them from participating in nationwide gatherings that hold the government and defense forces accountable for their brutality. Notably, since July 28, Pakistani authorities have detained hundreds of individuals in connection with the Baloch National Gathering, a march aimed at drawing attention to human rights issues in the region. The ongoing unrest in Balochistan is marked by significant human rights violations and demands for greater autonomy and fair resource distribution within the province.
