Adele has long been an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. In 2016, following the tragic Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida, she dedicated a show to the victims, saying, "The LGBTQ community, they're like my soul mates since I was really young, so I'm very moved by it." She has also referred to her song "I Set Fire to the Rain" as a "gay anthem."
