Arunachal Pradesh CM thanked Narendra Modi for his motivational message marking the Statehood Day celebration.

Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, on Friday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his “warm greetings and inspiring message” to the people on the occasion of the state’s Statehood Day. Khandu shared Modi’s letter on his social media platform X, highlighting that the Prime Minister’s words reflected the deep patriotism, resilience, and innovative spirit of Arunachal Pradesh. He noted that from the hills of Tawang to the remote border villages that witness India’s first sunrise, the state’s people embody dedication and pride.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that over the past ten years, Arunachal Pradesh has experienced significant progress under Modi’s leadership. He pointed to improvements in connectivity, infrastructure, healthcare, education, tourism, and sustainable livelihoods. Khandu mentioned major central initiatives such as the Vibrant Villages Programme, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, and the Ujala Scheme, along with landmark projects like the Sela Tunnel and Donyi Polo Airport, as examples of the Centre’s strong commitment to the state’s development.
He further expressed appreciation for Modi’s efforts to protect the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage, especially through the digitisation of rare manuscripts under the Gyan Bharatam Mission, which aims to preserve Arunachal Pradesh’s traditions for future generations. On behalf of the people of the state, Khandu thanked the Prime Minister for his continued guidance, support, and vision, and reaffirmed Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to achieving greater prosperity and unity.
Prime Minister Modi also extended his greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on Statehood Day, praising the state’s natural beauty, cultural diversity, and hardworking citizens. He said Arunachal Pradesh represents a harmonious blend of tradition and nature, and its people play an important role in the nation’s growth. He expressed hope that the state would continue to achieve new milestones in development.
Known as the “Land of the Rising Sun,” Arunachal Pradesh shares borders with Bhutan, China, and Myanmar, giving it strategic importance. The state’s journey from being the North Eastern Frontier Agency to becoming a Union Territory in 1972, and later attaining full statehood on February 20, 1987, reflects its historical and national significance.
